由中國香港體育協會暨奧林匹克委員會主辦的「Samsung 香港傑出運動員選舉」於 2014年 3 月 13 日舉行頒獎典禮,本會運動員鄧韋樂榮膺「香港傑出青少年運動員」,以表揚他在體壇上的優異表現,更讓社會人士認識到智障人士只要經過努力不懈的鍛煉,同樣 能成為優秀運動員,達成個人理想。
年僅 17 歲的韋樂經過短短四年的訓練,已成為泳隊的主力之一。他曾於多個國際高水平賽事獲獎,包括在 2013 國際智障人士體育聯盟世界游泳錦標賽奪得 6 面金牌,於亞洲青少年殘疾人運動會馬來西亜 2013 亦取得 2 金 1 銀。在 2012 年首次參加殘疾人奧運會賽事,已能進入決賽,並於其強項 200 米自由泳項目中表現出色,以打破香港紀錄的成績 2:02.89 完成賽事,奪得第六名。他在 2013 年賽事中表現突出,位列世界排名第四位( 200 米自由泳 S14 組別 - 截至 2013 年 12 月 31 日)。韋樂在未來數年定必在國際賽事中獲得更優異成績,展現無限潛質。
韋樂的成功例子讓社會人士明白到智障運動員經過刻苦訓練,也能成為世界級運動員,其永不言敗的精神更值得其他運動員借鏡,讓他們知道只要努力向著目標前進,定能達成夢想。

Organized by the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, the prize presentation ceremony of the Sports Stars Awards was held on 13 March, 2014. TANG Wai Lok was awarded the Hong Kong Junior Sports Stars Awards in recognition of his excellent performance in the sports field.
The 17-year-old swimmer has become the key member of the team within four years of training. He won countless medals in different high level international competitions including 6 gold medals in 2013 Inas World Swimming Championships and 2 gold and 1 silver medals in Asian Youth Para Games Malaysia 2013. For his first show up in the 2012 Paralympic Games, he could make it to the final and finished in the sixth place with 2:03.89 which breaks the Hong Kong record. Until 31 December, 2013, Wai Lok ranked 4 in S14 200M Freestyle worldwide for his excellent performance in 2013.
The success of Wai Lok has proven to the public that persons with intellectual disability can also excel in sports through practice. Their spirit of “Never say never” also sets a role model for other athletes.
